The news of his daughter Emma’s disappearance sets Benno Winkler off on a journey that puts his convictions and ideals to the test and shakes them to the core. His daughter Emma’s passport has been found on the Turkish-Syrian border and there is no trace of her. Benno learns that his daughter and her boyfriend Max have made their way to Syria in order to smuggle the family of a Syrian student into Germany.
